OnDB is invite-only. We’re rolling out invites this week, alongside Stripe Sessions, because the room is full of people thinking about agent-to-API payments. The platform is running, connectors are shipped, endpoints are live.
What OnDB is
AI agents need data. Most useful data sits behind APIs and databases that weren’t built for them: every provider speaks a different protocol and schema, there’s no per-query metering, and no clean way for the agent to pay.
OnDB is the layer that makes proprietary data work for agents.
- An agent issues one query against OnDB. We resolve schemas, route it to the right provider, run it, and return the result. Joins across providers work the same way.
- The provider sets per-query pricing in code. We meter, charge the agent over HTTP 402, and pay the provider per call.
- Data never leaves the provider’s infrastructure. We don’t proxy it. We don’t store it. Only the query response goes back to the agent.
Under the hood:
- Unified API layer. One interface across REST, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Supabase, and ClickHouse. Query a specific provider directly when you need it as your source of truth, or join data from multiple providers in a single call.
- Composable endpoints. Wrap your own queries as reusable endpoints, including ones that span multiple providers. OnDB meters each underlying provider’s share and pays them automatically, so you can stand up direct partnerships without manual reconciliation. Consumption-based pricing, end to end.
- Payment-native. Built on x402 and Stripe’s Machine Payments Protocol (MPP). No billing logic to write.
- Secure by design. Data stays in your infrastructure. OnDB never proxies or stores payloads. Our team comes from a cybersecurity and data background, so the threat model is a first-class concern, not an afterthought.
- Zero migration. Connectors wrap your existing API or database in minutes.
